UK: Two arrested following warrants as part of cyber investigation

South East Regional Organised Crime Unit, June 9 — Two people have been arrested in connection with an investigation into cyber offences following warrants executed yesterday (8/6). A 28-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, both from Camarthenshire, were arrested after South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU) officers carried out warrants at addresses in Bletchley, Buckinghamshire and Newcastle Emlyn, Wales. The man was arrested on suspicion of blackmail, theft, money laundering and Computer Misuse Act offences, including unauthorised access to computer material, unauthorised computer access with intent to commit other offences, and making, supplying or obtaining articles for use in offence. The woman was arrested on suspicion of money laundering. They remain in police custody at this time. A number of digital devices were also seized from the addresses.
